A photo of the front the church. Once located in the midst of Camp 6 of Hawaiian Sugar Company at Makaweli, the church was known as the "church in the canefields" after the camp was razed around it and planted in cane. The town of Makaweli's name was changed in 1945 to "Kaumakani" when the new village was built by successor leasee C. Brewer. The plantation's name was changed to Olokele Sugar co.
